Gauri Verma

Sculpture is my passion for the past 20 years! A thousand bulbs light up when I touch clay to find shapes in it. My mother, an award winning artist, along with my father gave me an artistic environment while growing up. Expressing myself through an art form was only a matter of time. I was encouraged to observe, imagine and dream.
My works draw upon moods, philosophical thoughts and emotions of women in everyday life. I work obsessively when thoughts streak through my mind. Not just a thought but a series of thoughts which I try and thread together in one work. At times I get fascinated by details, complications and  textures and  sometimes straight flowing lines attract me. I follow my mind and explore wherever it takes me....
